Mary & Martha House provides shelter & support services to victims of domestic violence and homeless women and their dependent children. Mary & Martha House is a private non-profit, tax exempt corporation primarily dependent on private contributions. The Board of Directors is comprised of residents of Hillsborough County, who donate their time, provide direction, oversee the budget and ensure the needs of the clients are met. Founded in 1982, Mary & Martha House has been helping women and families escape domestic violence & homelessness for 35 years. Mary & Martha House provides individualized case management for each woman to identify personal barriers and overcome them. Mary & Martha House is not a one-size-fits all or group program. Each client receives individual counseling services to help her conquer her unique struggles. Mary & Martha House helps countless individuals every year. The financial impact of pulling a family out of homelessness and rebuilding their lives is exponential. There is a huge multiplier effect when you have families who can now send their children to school, and mothers who are confident and fully employed.
